Deep Landscape Values Assessment (DLVA) is a new form of landscape assessment in which Geoscene combines assessments of natural resource values (geologic, soils, hydrology, flora and fauna), Aboriginal cultural landscape values, Non-Aboriginal cultural landscape values, scenic and tourism values to provide an evaluation of Overall Landscape Significance. These assessments address the multiple values of a landscape that may be held by local communities or even nationally. These projects involve extensive research and a series of land management recommendations that address geological and environmental conservation, cultural heritage protection, scenic and tourism protection and management, and various management guidelines. Although this more comprehensive approach can be applied to any selected study area, they are quite often applied to district to regional scale projects, up to several hundreds of thousand hectares.
